Not All Mice Are The Same!

As a teacher, I like to plop on my couch, turn on the tv or movie, and work. I may grade online assignments or work on creating lesson plans. And you know what is so aggravating? When my mouse will not move the arrow on my screen! I am guilty of buying sometimes picking price (the cheaper, the better) over quality. When my mouse bit the dust about a month ago, I bought an inexpensive one on Amazon. I got what I paid for - a garbage mouse. So, I invested in a more expensive wireless mouse the third time around. It is so good that I have to share. I bought the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 Compact Performance Mouse. It is wireless, and it does move on any surface - including glass. It is also rechargeable - and uses a USB C. The mouse will remain powered for up to 70 days when it has fully charged. It comes in several different colors - graphite, white, pink, and pale grey. On Amazon, the price is $75.98 (free shipping with Prime). The Amazon price is comparable to what you would find at stores like Best Buy.  Click the image to be taken to the Amazon page for this product.

Teacher Tip - Salt Shakers For Glitter!!!!

Have you seen something on the web and been like - Why haven’t I ever thought of this? That was my exact reaction when I saw this hack for glitter. I definitely think that glitter can enhance a project, but let’s be honest, kids do not know how to use glitter in moderation. Whenever we are getting ready to work on some kind of craft project I have an internal debate on whether or not to bring out the glitter. If I do, I resign myself to the fact that I am going to have traces of glitter on myself and belongings for at least the next week. Putting glitter in salt shakers is such an amazing idea. It’s the same concept that is applied to the colored sugar used when baking cookies! Salt shakers are also inexpensive! You can find them at the Dollar Store. So don’t be afraid to get your glitter on.

Desktop Shield

While this may not be cool, it may be necessary. Thanks Rona! I am currently teaching via distance learning, but I definitely plan to get one of these for myself whenever we go back to face-to-face learning. I have zero faith in my school district to keep me safe. This information is from the product description on the website

  • The ultimate 3-sided protection barrier that comes pre-assembled, lightweight (4.8 lbs.) and easy to carry from class to class

  • Made in America of 1/8 shatterproof clear polycarbonate

  • Handle features a rubber insert for carrying comfort and can also be used as a safe pass-through for school materials

  • Velcro tabs insure shield stays together while carrying; the shield is very easy to open and close

  • The desktop shield fits most school desks and is easy to clean with antibacterial cleaners

  • Front Face - 23 ½ tall by 23 wide;  Side Panels 23 ½ tall by 8 1/2 wide

I did find some other plexiglass shields, but they were more expensive or were not collapsible. I like this one because it folds.

The cost of this product is $89.99

Portable Laptop Pad/Laptop Desk w/ Retractable Mouse Pad - Great For Working From The Couch!

I like to sit on the couch and work on my laptop, but where am I going to put my mouse? My couch happens to have armrests that are a little too high to use my mouse comfortably. This is a great solution. It is lightweight at 2.2 lbs and only.6 inches thick (it’s a pad - it also will pack well in your school bag or even a suitcase). It also has a heat shield. And the price is right at only $27.99 on Amazon (that is w/Prime). I did find it less expensive on other sites, however, when you add in shipping, it comes out at the same price.
