This is an assignment that I send home at the beginning of the school year. I offer extra credit for any student that has a parent who completes this “homework” assignment. I find that it allows a parent to tell you about their child and it opens the line for friendly communication. Just like I stated in the letter, I really hate for my first interaction with parents to be when I have to call home because of misbehavior or a bad grade. I have always received positive feedback from parents regarding this assignment.
